Sorry for the long wait. The last two weeks were insane, between rehearsals and problems at work I barely had time to sleep, let alone come here. Rach has been pretty busy too. She has finals soon so she's been studying during all her free time. I think we may both need a break... maybe I'll check with the local theater crowd and see what shows are going on. I heard someone's doing Phantom. Rach loves that show.
Anyway, sorry for the short post but things are still pretty busy. I'll definitely have more time to randomly explain my life to the entire internet come summer.

If it'll get you off my back Rach
Right, yesterday was my little sis's birthday, and she's been bugging me to use this blog for more than stuff about the theater. So, as part of my various birthday presents to her (And there are a lot, for reasons I'll explain below), I am going to make a post telling a bit more about myself and my life.
I'm 24 years old, though I'm told I seem younger. I'm six years older than my sister, I have my own one bedroom apartment, where she lives with me while she's going to college. Why, you ask? Because, well, we're, kinda... orphans. Not for a long time, our mom and dad died last year. A plane crash. My dad was an amateur pilot, did it for fun. The day they went out was perfect, but it started raining at random, and a storm started. They got hit by lightning and their plane fell out of the sky. It was the worst thing to happen to either of us, and I took her in afterwards.
So this is the year after, and I tried to make this the best birthday she's had in a while. I got her a lot of presents, and even called in a sub to cover for me at the college so that I could spend the day with her. We went to a show, a greenhouse, then I got her dinner with a bunch of her friends at one of the more enjoyable local restaurants. When we got home I put in her favorite chick flicks and sat with her as she cried at the ends, tissues in hand.
I think she enjoyed it, she told me so anyway, and that's all that matters.
Anyway, as you may have noticed, I work at the local college. I'm their drama instructor, mostly because I'm willing to work on a teacher's salary with minimal funding for sets or props. I learned to improvise very quickly. But, it's a job, and I enjoy it. Besides, working their got Rach a discount on her tuition. So it all worked out.
Alright, apparently this still isn't enough. I have to tell you more about myself besides my work, according to the happy flower girl. Ugh. I don't know. I'm fond of fedoras, I keep a deck of playing cards with me at all times. I have a rather fancy Death mask, which I wear to all of the costume parties I go to. But really, that's all.
Sorry for the long post, but thanks for reading.

Rehearsal 4 and 5, and a strange party
Sorry for the wait.
Man I say that a lot.
Anyway, I've been far too busy to actually post here. What with rehearsals and everything else going on.
So it turns out that Jon is sick. For the past week, he's been stuck in bed with the flu. It makes rehearsals a pain. He was the best friend to my character. So now someone else reads his lines, which throws off timing ridiculously. It sucks to be sick, but still.
On the other hand, Lilith and I have been getting along better and better. In fact, we even hang out awhile after rehearsal yesterday. Mind you, we're friends, and that's it. We used to be more, but we've basically decided to stick with that. We actually stopped talking for a long time when I stopped going to the theater. Now that I think about it, she left around the same time. And came back at the same time too. Weird.
Ah well. The show, despite it's timing issues, is going well otherwise. Everyone basically knows there lines, their accents are getting better, and we all get on well enough.
Addressing the last part of this posts title, I was at a costume party a couple days ago. I went as a sort of Grim Reaper character. I'm a real loner at parties, and generally I just people watch. The weird thing is, there was this other guy doing the same thing. He was a little shorter than me by the look of it, and he wore a hoodie, cargoes, and a fucking gas mask. I want a gas mask! But he was weird, because no one even looked at him. People generally at least make an effort to talk to me. They just outright ignored this guy. He was also watching me back, which was somewhat unsettling. Even though my skull mask is nothing to sneeze at, the gas mask just is always creepy.
Still, it was no big deal. And the party was fun enough, good food, people dancing, the usual. Not really my thing, but the costumes made it worth it. It's actually a rather common occurrence in the local theater community. The beer always flows too. I don't touch it though. Never liked alcohol.

Rehearsal 3
Sorry for the wait. Anyway, I figured I should post again. We've had another rehearsal. It's going well all in all.
But here's the weird part, on my way to the theater, I ended up running my car off the road and nailing a tree. I could swear I saw a guy standing in the middle of the road. I barely got a glimpse of him as I swerved. It must have been a trick of the light, because when I got myself back together and looked up nothing was there. Damn Jon! All of his talk of his nightmares was getting to me.
So I got to the theater, my car only dented a little, and found that Jon wasn't even there. That too was odd. He's usually really good about being at rehearsals.
Lilith seemed rather friendly today. We spoke on friendly terms for the first time in months. It was a good feeling.
Rehearsal itself is going well, I finally got my Irish accent down. The show's not for awhile, so I'll have plenty of things to write about here.
Thanks for reading.

Well that just made no sense
Right, sorry about the long wait and the whole "GIANT RANT OF DOOM" thing. Sometimes Jon really pisses me off is all. He's been missing a few rehearsals and it just annoys me. It's not like we have a ton of time. The shows next week. Open book or not, he still needs to be at rehearsals.
Anyway, now that that's explained, back to the theater itself. We've had two more rehearsals, and they put on another show this weekend. Damn good one too. I helped out around the theater, selling tickets, concessions, and fixing the random stuff that falls apart at the theater. It's actually a great deal of fun. Unfortunately it brings me into contact with someone who I'd really prefer not to talk to. Lilith and I have a... complicated... relationship to say the least.
That said, it's great being at the theater. Rehearsals are going well, and for the most part everyone gets along. The shows coming along well enough, considering the script we have to work with. Jon and I, being in nearly every scene, have the most trouble with it. But we went on an editing spree so it actually makes sense now.
Anyway, till next time. Thanks for reading.

Rant Time
Ugh... time to rant a bit, sorry.
Why the hell are people so complicated? Seriously. People are too emotional. Why is everyone so fucking insane? Why is it that I am the bad guy for being logical? For being rational? I have to pretend to comprehend your emotions? Why? Why is it that I have to jump through hoops to keep you satisfied while you can just say whatever the fuck you want? I don't care what you think you're seeing, they're hallucinations! Or it, or he or whatever! God damn it!

Rehearsal 2
Alright so I just got back from another rehearsal for this show, and I'm not quite sure how it will turn out. A friend of mine, Jon, is involved and between the two of us there's always someone cracking jokes. This may save this show though because the script is terrible, I mean absolutely awful. It's beyond redundant, there's very little punctuation, and half the words are misspelled.
I think Jon's sick. It's a shame. He's not as good when he's sick, which goes for most people I assume. It's weird though, he keeps saying he's fine, but I swear he never took his eyes of the woods till we got on the highway and I dropped him off. I made fun of him for it and he laughed but... I don't know, he seemed off for some reason.
Oh well, I'm sure he'll be fine. Anyway, more rehearsals soon.
Thanks for reading.
